friday's light the night walk

On Friday, Su's sister, Emily, was invited to participate with The Cow Girls in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Light the Night Walk in Colonie, NY. She herself raised $305.00, which is included in the amazing sum of $2,209.00 collected by The Cow Girls for the benefit of the LLS.

Describing the event in an e-mail message, Emily wrote:

The walk was around the pond at The Crossings, a park in Colonie, NY. It was emotional before the walk began. We all took a moment to think of those we’re walking for – in honor and in memory. Of course there were tears (including me) of love, hope, and compassion. Just wish cancer wasn’t the reason that brought us all together. Hopefully lots of monies were raised to help the fight can go on. . . .

Many thanks to Emily and the members of The Cow Girls for welcoming me to be a source of inspiration for their amazing fundraising effort aimed to help benefit the many wonderful programs of the LLS. Thanks to all those who have contributed so far. Donations can still be made by clicking here.

Emily said she'll send me some more images from Friday's Light the Night Walk. When I receive them, I'll post them.

Glad to support the cause in honor of those we love. There must be research for the fight to go on.
