day +64

I was at Dr. Robert's office this morning for our weekly psych session. Describing how I feel at the moment, he referred to a line in a Leon Russell song that goes something like: "I'm trying to balance myself on a tight rope between hope and fear." Very poignant.

Last night I began reading The Varieties of Scientific Experience: A Personal View of the Search for God by Carl Sagan.

In A Buyer's and User's Guide to Astronomical Telescopes & Binoculars, I came across this quote that grabbed my immediate attention:

Adrift in a cosmos whose shores he cannot even imagine, man spends his energies in fighting with his fellow man over issues which a single look through this telescope would show to be utterly inconsequential.

- Dedication of Palomar 200-inch Hale Telescope

Finally, a new edition of Autologous Stem Cell Transplants: A Handbook for Patients is available now. I have a copy of the first edition, which I found to be a good practical resource. Find out more about this new edition here.
