yanks are in!

After such a disappointing start to the season, who would have guessed the Yanks would have finished so strongly and made the playoffs.

Duane: Wanted to touch base a say hello. A friend sent me your page link a few months back and I check in from time to time. I live in CA but grew up in NE and when I was in high school I used to watch Joba Chamberlin (the Yankees new rookie pitcher) pay baseball with my little brother when they were in middle school and high school together. Joba used to wear these Oakley sunglasses that intimidated the hell out of the other kids and about halfway through every game he would eat a sandwich, but the kid is awesome and deserves every good break he gets - he won't ever take any of it for granted. Wishing you good health for the present and future - Stacy

Hi Stacey,

Thanks for commenting.

Wow, your story about Joba is hilarious! Joba is great! It's funny how in such a short time he's manifested into a kind of living legend among Yankee fans. Let's hope he continues to kick ass.

Thanks again for your very kind, encouraging words.

Thoughtfully,
Duane

Hi Michelle,

Overall, I'm doing pretty well.

Yeah, we're in the big tournament. I think it's going to be an exciting playoffs. Let's just hope the Yanks make it to the World Series. The Mets race for the NL division is also amazing. They lost their lead and now are tied with the Phillies with only 3 games left in the season. Oh boy! This makes great baseball but it could also cause a heart attack for Mets/Phillies fans.

Thanks for leaving a comment, Michelle.

Best wishes,
Duane

Hi Heather,

I'm glad you were able to return back to work, but I'm sure it's an adjustment period too which brings along its own craziness.

Thanks for checking in! Keep in touch.

Wishing you continued strength and health,
Duane
