the god delusion

In this edition of BBC Newsnight, Richard Dawkins (whom I had never heard of before) is interviewed about his new book, The God Delusion. I found it to be quite informative, although of course a lot of it has been said before. At the end of his interview in response to a probing question by the reporter, Dawkins concludes his interview saying, "I don't believe we're put here [on Earth] to be comfortable." For me, I found Dawkins' brief but strong statement to be most telling as it helped to validate some of my own ideas about suffering and human existence.

Despite the heaviness of his ending statement, Dawkins speaks with great humanism which I think some people may be surprised about when one considers that he and others like him are non-theists. Watch the entire interview here.
