monthly checkup with the doc

Yesterday was my regular checkup appointment with Schuster. As expected, it was very short. He asked me all the usual questions, but all in all I felt very well I told him. Yes, there still is that feeling of slight pressure in my chest from time to time but otherwise, all is well. He appeared to be very pleased. He continues to call me a superstar.

I'm due back for a checkup on August 14th, although I will be scheduled for a PET-CT scan during the prior week. This will be my first imaging scan since my last one in April. Every three months is the cycle for the scans.

Finally, he reminded me that on August 6th is the annual survivor cruise for transplant patients at Weill Cornell-NY Presbyterian Hospital. I should receive an invitation in the mail soon he said. When I informed him that I was seeing Sue, he told me that I should invite her along on the cruise so that he and the rest of the staff could meet the wonderful woman, who owns my heart of this superstar. He and the medical staff, Schuster joked, had to give their approval before our relationship progressed any further. In fact, I told Su about his invitation yesterday after my appointment and she accepted it gladly. I was planning to invite her to the cruise myself, but Schuster beat me to it.

I'm very much looking forward to the cruise, sweetpea. Schuster didn't beat you to it, he just insisted on something you were already planning to do. I hope I pass my medical boards, not unlike meeting the parents type concerns.

There are no doubts that you'll pass with flying colors. . . . Absolutely no doubt! ;)
