films in tribeca

I was in Chicago at this time last year and so I wasn't able to check out any of the indy films at the Tribeca Film Festival then. Since I'm home this time around, however, I'm going to try to see a few of them. What an opportunity! Tomorrow at 8:15pm I plan to watch Jonestown: The Life and Death of Peoples Temple, which is about the famous Peoples Temple cult led by the eccentric Jim Jones, who in 1978 initiated a mass suicide of his members. I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With is a comedy, which I hope to check out on Saturday. It stars Jeff Garlin from the HBO series Curb Your Enthusiasm, a favorite of mine. And finally, there's When I Came Home, a documentary about the harsh reality of life at home after war. I think this film examines the life of one particular war veteran from Operation Iraqi Freedom.
